'...And he said, let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, 'I will not let thee go, except thou bless me.' And he said unto him, 'What is thy name?' And he said, 'Jacob.' And he said, 'Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed.' (Gen 32: 26-28. KJV).

From the beginning of the creation, God has always wanted man to walk at the centre of His (God) will. This aids performance of man on earth to reveal God's glory.
At this juncture, man must learn to use his will in the right way; for the purpose of man's will is to make the right choice. If any man decides to manipulate his way outside of God to get things done, the person will not go scot free because there is always a pay day.
For us to fulfill purpose, we must have face-to-face encounter with God, because what God has purposed, no one can frustrate.
Why was Esau unable to lay his hand to harm Jacob despite his past hurt to him? This reveals to us that the place of emptiness of self to God is very important in a man's life.
Few critical questions that got full explanations through this message are;

• Why did God promise to bless Abram despite all material things that he brought out of his home country (Gen.12: 2)?
• Why did Jacob ask God to bless him despite the amount of gifts that he sent to his brother, Esau?
• Can material things be equal to God's blessing?

'By mercy and truth, iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the Lord, men depart from evil. When man's ways please the Lord, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him. Better is a little with righteousness than great revenue without right.' - Proverbs 16: 6-8 (KJV).
