Title : The Consequence of Inter-Marriage with Pagans
Preacher : Dr. 'Tunde Bakare
Date: 09 , July 2008

Main Texts: Genesis 6:1-4, 11, 12; Ezra 9:1-7; Malachi 2:10-12
• This message does not apply to those who went into marriage with pagans before they were saved; it concerns those who are awake and aware.
• Contrary to general belief, the sons of God that intermingled with the daughters of men in Genesis are not fallen angels but sons of God from the appointed seed God blessed Eve with following the murder of Cain. But sadly, they violated the ordinances of God concerning the holy institution of marriage. Angels were never called the sons of God at any point in the entire scriptures (Hebrews 1:1-7, 13, 14; Genesis 4:, 25; 5:1-4; Proverbs 5:1-12; 6:20-26; 7:1-5, 24-27;; Deuteronomy 7:1-4, 12-15).
• Although it is indisputable that when Jesus says “Yes” to something nobody can say “No”, it is crucial to be sure if He had said “Yes” to what you believe or think. You cannot manipulate God to rubber-stamp your wish!
• It is true that when Jesus opens a door no one can shut it, and if He shuts a door no one can open it, however, He can decide neither to open nor shut—that is where your faith is tested.
• If you are in a marriage relationship with a pagan, it is your personal choice, and the Devil will be your father-in-law.
• It is the combination of a holy seed with holy union that makes marriage a holy institution—if it is not between two people of the same faith in Christ Jesus and the same faith in God, it is no longer a holy matrimony (2 Corinthians 6:14-18).
• If you commingle with an unbeliever in a marriage relationship, you automatically cut yourself off from being a child of God (Judges 16:1-21; 1 Kings 11:1-10).
• When an ungodly man marries an ungodly woman, it neither strikes anything in heaven nor hell. But when a godly man marries an ungodly woman, not only will hell break loose, but also, the foundation of everything one believes will be shaken (Luke 12:47, 48).
• Parenting also entails that our children married right, because if this does not happen, neither the parents nor the children will live right in their marriage.
• If you don’t marry right, you cannot live right.
“Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever? And what agreement has thetemple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will dwell in them and walk among them. I will be their God, and they shall be My people. Therefore “Come out from among them. And be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, and I will receive you. “I will be a Father to you, and you shall be My sons and daughters, says the LORD Almighty.” (2 Corinthians 6:14-18).
